Care and Caution
Handling
- Handle the Antares 4G with care. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong mechanical shocks.
- Do not open or attempt to repair the device. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- Keep the device clean and dry. Use a slightly damp cloth for cleaning if necessary.
Electrical Safety
- Ensure the power supply voltage is within the specified range before connecting the device.
- Never connect or disconnect the device while power is applied to the harness connector.
- The digital outputs (XP1, XP2) are open-collector type. Do not exceed their rated current or voltage.
- Input detection thresholds: Active state = 0 V to 2 V; Inactive state = > 2.5 V. Do not apply voltages outside the rated range.
- Over-temperature protection on outputs activates at 165 °C.
Installation Environment
- Install the device in a location protected from direct water spray, condensation, and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid mounting near sources of strong electromagnetic interference (ignition coils, high-voltage cables).
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.
- Secure all cables and connectors to prevent vibration damage.
Firmware Updates
- Do not interrupt power during a firmware update. An incomplete update may render the device unresponsive.
- Use only official firmware packages from DCT.
Regulatory
- This device must be installed and operated in accordance with all applicable local regulations.
- The device is intended for use in vehicles and fixed assets. Do not use it in applications where failure could cause injury or loss of life without appropriate safety interlocks.
- Dispose of the device according to local electronic waste regulations. Do not discard in regular trash.
